Cottage

Here are some screenshots of my cottage in Maya with all its glorious textures on it. Once all the UV's were sorted, i found the texturing really easy, i think i spent too long trying to focus on the alien head, so, i'm happy with this, but i know i could do so much better if i organised my time more efficiently.

Various Unwraps+Maps

Here are various unwraps that i did for the alien head, the gums in the mouth are a common problem throughout but i prevailed!! I did it, i don't think the eyes worked right either but on the model they look fine.

Alien Head - Finally

This is by far, my favorite part of semester 2, I loved texturing and on this one and only occasion, didn't explode internally when i went to UV or give it Normal Maps. I thoroughly enjoyed working on this and am really quite happy with the final results. There are elements that stressed me out, i had an issue with inside of the alien mouth but all in all, i'm happy. The presentations were informative and well set out and the lectures were planned and very helpful, plus the lecturer is just...awesome.

KR8 Task

I think i lost quite a lot of work when my memory stick went walkies, this wasn't my final KR8 but its the most recent one i can find. Its great....isn't it.... -.- have learnt from my mistakes and i am now backing up EVERYTHING. So, that's something i suppose...

Crate task

This was from one of the first tasks we had to do, we had to create a texture for a wooden crate, as you can tell, it wasn't too great....woo....i still enjoyed it though and learnt a lot of new techniques and how to use different tools. And below is the finished monstrosity!!! YAY!!

Alien head 2

This is showing how i'm beginning to add texture and color to the rest of the face. For the teeth i used textures from bones and skulls, and the top of the head i used the scales from a lizard. Like wise with the eyes. I found an image of an iguana with a similar structure to the model and i think it's worked really well.

I'm using my painting knowledge to give it highlights on certain areas, and also give it the spotty pattern around his face. At first i struggled with Zbrush but i'm really starting to like it

THE ALIEN HEAD!

This and the animation are my favorite modules this semester, i love this so much. These pictures are all showing the use of photos that i'm adding. And how i'm just messing around with it. The eyes are from a picture of a goat that i found, i thought it gave a suitably alien feel to it, however to add a little difference, i made one of the eyes blind, and a little scarred around the edge so it looks quite sore.
As i do a lot of physical painting, i'm used to working from the bottom up so i've textured the inside of the aliens mouth using photos of peoples mouths to make it look very fleshy.
